I am Victor M. Valderrama Sanchez, probably the student with the longest last name in all Glendale Community College. I have been GCC for a year. I was born in a island know as Puerto Rico one of the commonwealth of United States, therefore I always been an United State citizen, grow up in a city name Fajardo. Two weeks after I was born my family move to Elizabeth, New Jersey; there I stay until I was almost 5 and went back to my little island. When I graduate from High School I have decide to move to Phoenix, Arizona, here I continue my education. I little later in life I took a decision to become a missionary and serve in New Jersey. It was really amazing to be there, as I spoke with many people I have realize something very impressive they spoke many languages. It was my chance to know at least how to greet them in their own language and learn a little about their culture. I was able to learn close to 10 ways to greet people, in their native language, and learn about how language connect with native speakers.
My Major is Engineering, I'm taking ENG 213 because I want to have the certificate, and I want to learn other languages. I believe this class is going to be very helpful in the pursuit of that dream.
Languages I can speak are Spanish and English, some Brazilian Portuguese. I Have many hobbies, I like learning languages, music, art, recently photography, read it about (D.I.Y.), cooking, Science, etc...
Hello Victor! I find it awesome that you come from Puerto Rico. My grandfather on my dad's side came from Puerto Rico therefore I have a bit of Puerto Rican in me! I had a friend who lived there and he would send me pictures of PR's beauty.
ReplyDeleteI hope to enjoy this class as much as you do because I find language fascinating, too!
Hey Victor! It was nice meeting you in class the other day. You seem like an interesting fellow. I think it's really cool how you love language and wish to learn about other cultures. We need more curious people like you! Hopefully we both have a great experience in ENG213.
